From screen to page — and back again.
Koolidoscope Pictures LLC was founded in New Orleans, Louisiana to produce independent film. The plan was simple: develop original screenplays in the city we love, and shoot them with crews who know its light, its sound, and its weather.
Then 2020 arrived. The film industry shut down. Productions paused. Crews scattered. Sets sat empty for the better part of two years.
So we picked up a pen. The screenplays we couldn't shoot became novels — full-length, fully realized, with every cinematic beat translated into prose. It turned out to be a better way to protect the work, too. A finished book is harder to copy than a screenplay passed around a town.
Today, Koolidoscope is a publishing house and an audiobook production studio. The cameras may come back one day — but the printing press and the recording booth aren't going anywhere.
